Am I correct in understanding that this is not a good idea on a NA that has winter climate? My motor however is EGR'less and i wanted to put one in for that reason, and better performace...
Just drape half of yoru radiator with a towel for winter and you are set.
It got really cold once, so much so that the engine wasnt up to operating temps for 25 minutes, and it probably only rose cus I was at a light. But then I covered half with a towel and it was much better.
So go ahead and switch, and when it gets below 20 degrees use a towel. Sometimes you see semi'* on the road with a vinyl cover over the radiator except for an opening in the center, that you see is the same concept.
