This is how an engine is painted.
You can clearly see the gaskets sticking out in this photo. This is what you WANT to see.
This pic is the only one that I "cheated" a bit on:
I painted in the area where the exhaust gasket will sit. Yes, this is a BIG no-no. I'm not concerned about it though because the gasket mating surface can easily be scraped and wiped down with some MEK. I also got some overspray on the headgasket (did some touchup on the heads after bolting on to the head), but this shouldn't hurt things at all.

This is the fastest a thread has reached 3 pages with little author input, as I recall. Pretty good stuff. It'* coming along pretty interestingly, though, and I hope we get oldsrocket back in here. Do you think the engine could run as is?

Something was mentioned about 1.9 rockers and a custom cam grind. Was this confirmed, or are we waiting to see if it'* just either one while the other sits by and waits?

Very odd. He'd have zero lift addition to the cam that way, and if the cam was custom, he should have provided his lift there and gone with lower-ratio rockers.
The source of the rockers is in serious question. Who made them? YT never did. They only make 1.7 and 1.8 ratio for the Series 1.

I was really hoping for this to be some huge project that would be admired by all and imitated by me. Is there still hope? Maybe he knows a machine shop that can mod stock rockers to a 1.9 ratio. However, they'd probably just end up bending and acting poorly. Let'* hope that the rockers are a great find and are readily available for us to buy!

It'* a Ford "Fusion" NASCAR with 1337ssei'* hand showing how amazingly huge those rockers are. They probably don't bend...
Do we have any advantage with our smaller rockers providing less mechanical drag or anything? Now that I think about it, a cam, lots of porting, 1.9 rockers, and a 1.9 pulley with a painted engine may be really hard to tune properly. If this is really 0 KR, that'* an engineering marvel! NASCAR should look into this one.

first off i will not be giving anybody any SPECs on my cam, my crank or any other power making information
second if you research stock car engines have been painted black, gloss black, with having the undersides of the intake painted gloss white-- its a proven 5-10hp
third you dont rebuild an engine over a period of a couple weeks, all your machining is done and yes my vavle train is in yet when i ported it
and the engine is put together all at once and then painted, the longer it stays open the more dirt, and paint you let in leading to failure
fourth a 92 l27 pcm WILL support a 94 L67
my brother owns it and it kills me every time we go out, its got NOS and runs 13.0
if you think rambliing on and talking bs about me is g;oing to bring me back here your wrong you all act like know it alls and think that you are all correct, i thought this was a learing forum, not a WILL WREN knows all forum.
im done here, i will learn nothing from people that act like this

If you won't let us learn from you, don't be surprised if the forum is hesitant to answer your questions, if you have any.
