Rebuilding it might be the cheapest way to go, although it will take me some time. I'm going to have to think this over a bit. If this trans comes out, there'* not much to convince me not to put a manual Getrag 282 or 284 back in aside from the $350 cost of a new Spec Stage 3 clutch.

If its not a difficult task, I can do it. I just need an engine lift.

The blob hanging off the back of the trans is the fwd servo housing.

Can't see that image at work. Probably won't matter anyway if I have to pull the trans and overhaul it.

that would be if it'* the input piston.

Yeah but for the price of that trans and the rest of the parts, The F40'* are cheap but they're not that cheap. I could rebuild this transmission myself and still have money to spare for performance parts.

You were the one that started the "swap in a stick" talk. I'm just tossing gas in the fire.

Depending on exactly what'* wrong with this transmission, I have to weigh my options. A 5 speed swap would be ideal, but the cost of the clutch and the cost of the trans and parts would be more. Then again, I wouldn't have to deal with these stupid issues anymore either.

I'll probably end up rebuilding this transmission either way. I don't have the money for a swap, the trans would have to come out either way, and it would be good experience.

I'm going to the junkyards on Saturday. If I find a Getrag 282 or 284, I'm going to town. These automatics are way too much trouble.

Fixed this issue. Solution: 2003 GTP PCM tuned by Sinister Performance.

Yeah, a 2003 4T65E will work ONLY with a 2003 PCM. No other way around it. Either that, or another PCM that you can flash 2003 programming onto. Trans shifts perfectly fine now.
