agreed, ill polish more

already got the pushrods springs and retainers... PCM would be a simple swap back to the cam burn it already had on it :duh:

On the spare LIM I have...it was corroded to heck. I used the patented Haro wire brush method to clean it up.... Oh boy...it works good.

Yup, wire brush did the trick for mine.

I believe if you cam it you will be in want for steeper gearing to get back your low end torque.

afer buying a used 15-gallon air compressor, tons of fittings, and lots of air tools, i got around to attempting this the correct way. i found using the entire fitting off my compression tester hooked directly into my air compressor line worked great. i did have some difficulty sealing the valves to keep them up as there was a lot of crap sitting on top of the valves breaking the seal. once i got into it, the entire swap took less than an hour

i did not torque the bolts yet as i have 2 questions:

1. can i re-use the rocker arm bolts? if looks like i cant according to the information in curts thread in P&B, however INTENSE never says anything about not re-using them, and they say to cover them in motor oil

2. how do i know if the rockers are seated correctly... do they sit at a small angle when they are torqued? i have the plates and pedistals in correctly, but i should not have to visually adjust them to position them right.. correct?

Must be spring and rocker day...

harofreak00 01-07-2007 09:45 PM

yup, just noticed matts pics... anyone else?

willwren 01-07-2007 10:14 PM

They are TTY. Some people feel they can be reused, but it's not suggested. Buy new bolts.

harofreak00 01-07-2007 10:15 PM

thanks bill, can ya answer #2?

willwren 01-07-2007 10:17 PM

Be very careful with that. Chadow427 shit a HS rocker in my driveway, probably for that reason. Just make sure the seats and pedestals are mated correctly, and that the rockers 'feel' correct. Then torque in stages. Keep in mind the rear is ALOT harder to know it's right. Pay extra attention back there.

Loosen them a bit, double, check, then torque.

thats what i thought, and thats why i didnt torque them.. PMing him to get in here...

as far as the rocker bolts, i just found this on INTENSE's website...

Harland Sharp Re-usable Rocker Arm Bolts are an alternative to GM torque-to-yield one time use rocker arm bolts. These are same bolts supplied with our INTENSE™ Third Generation Full Roller Rocker Arms and are an excellent cost-effective alternative to stock rocker arm bolts that must be replaced every time you remove them.
