He didn't . That is what might have caused the valve spring to fail which caused the first motors death. What ever happend to the cam anyway? I would have put it in the new motor with new springs.

bingo.. the cam was sold off on clubgp to cover the cost of the new motor... its got a 98 GTP motor in it now with 100k at the time...

this is sunday afternoons project... ripped out the carpet to have it look like this..

i knew the rear piece is going to be replaced since some of the carpet is actually missing from some acid, so i am only working on the front...

i worked on it in my driveway for a while, had some laundry detergent soaking on it for a while, notice how the carpet holds all water...it soaked for almost 30 min

Too bad about all that water damage! You did a great job of cleaning up the carpet though. So do you have another item to add to the project list? (clean/treat/fix rust and find and fix the water sources)
