i dont know much about the older ones but im not surprised, these cars can move, ive seen times on a NAed series 2 that are less than 8 seconds, but i dont know where they came from...it was on car-stats.com..but these "Gramma cars" can move i know that much...so dont be surprised by it and i know Jim can testify about the 89

10 secs seems to be a pretty good time. The last time I clocked my 89 it was just about 11 secs or so. Gotta love the torque of these 3800'*.

Yea the torque is superb I just wish it stayed there throughout the whole powerband. My car is yelling its loudest yet it doesnt look like its going that fast except at takeoff.

I did 0-100 kph in just over 8 seconds in my old 89SE...about 8.5 IIRC with a stopwatch.

RLD was a good running car with a few mods to it.

I once did the stop watch thing on my cell phone but in my 99 Grand Am, got 8 seconds which sucked because I should have gotten at least 7 something but the timing was from my stoned friend and I had like 4 guys in there. Dude, just nevermind this post. lol

I wouldn't say it'* a slow car. It just lacks upper RPM power, especially in the older 3.8'*. That'* where it hurts you.

But you have a lot of grunt, so it will get you moving when you need to.
