What am I missing?
That'* a great car with very interesting engineering behind it. Even though the Buick, Oldsmobile, and two Cadillacs all shared the same platform and driveline choices, the Oldsmobile is the rarest of them all today. That one is in great shape too (give or take some brake parts).
I used to see those things brand new come into the shop with all kinds of terrible problems, often related to build quality and exacerbated by the interesting engineering. That'* why a lot of them went to the great boneyard in the sky earlier than their more-traditional siblings. The ones that are left are lucky and probably well cared for much of their life.
