1992 Silhouette - Intermittent won't start
Hello: Thank you in advance for your help. My 92 Silhouette has 300,000 miles with a new starter, solenoid and steering column ignition switch. For a while it has been not reliable to start. Sometimes it would start, but only after holding the key to start position for a couple of seconds. Sometimes waiting for 15 minutes might get it to start without the bypass. When the car won't start, with the key on a bypass wire from the solenoid to battery gave it fast easy start. I tried to get another ABS relay from a GM dealer, but they are out of stock. Anyone have an idea if the ABS relay can go bad? Aftermarket relays don't have the GM part numbers and the counter person showed me two different relays and said either should work. I am concerned about the right electronics for this important circuit. Any ideas? Trent in Los Angeles.

92 Van starting problem
No I don't know of any theft system in the van. I have a 95 Olds Cutlass * conv with the chip on the key and security light on the dash which failed and the steering column lock was replaced. Good question, thanks.
