I recently purchased two replacement key fobs for my 1997 Oldsmobile 88. Per the instructions to sync the fobs with my car, I had to use a bent paper clip inserted into certain pins on the OBDII port under the dash on the driver’* side of the car. For reference, I needed to stick the end of the paper clip into port 8 and 4. When trying to line up the paper clip just right, I touched the wrong port by accident, and had a little spark. I placed the paper clip into the correct ports and was able to program the fobs without issue.

However, upon starting the car a few minutes later, I realized that the radio was no longer powering on, and my trip odometer had been reset. The trip computer was zeroed, but still worked as expected as I took a little drive. The radio unfortunately, never came back to life. Realizing the spark might’ve blown a fuse, I checked the fuse for the radio under the dash, and although it looked fine, I replaced it anyway, just to be sure. This didn’t bring the radio back to life. At this point, I’m stumped, I’m not sure if I completely fried the radio with the split second connection with the wrong port on the OBDII port or what. It was working fine prior. I’m looking for some advice, as I’m not sure what to do at this point. Does anyone have any experience with a problem similar to this?

Thanks, me too. Just a split second of contact to the wrong terminals, and bam. Luckily I was able to get it fixed last night. The lady and I are planning a little trip today totaling about 200 miles. Would've been a long trip without any radio.
