I had a few trim panels come loose on the car and I really don't want to pay a shop 50$ to reattach them if I can do it myself so I am turning to everyone here to get every ones opinion on this. The trim panels came off on both the driver side front door and the rear door on the same side. Also I will upload a few pictures to help everyone get a better idea on what I am asking about. Any and all info will be very helpful.

Will that stuff damage the paint on the car?. Also will it remove all of the glue because I am betting that glue it probably been on the car since 96. Also what type of glue do I use to re-apply the trim so I can insure it dosn't fall back off.

From the looks of it, it appears pretty safe for the car.

You could probably get away with using that 3M double stick foam tape.

dont do that, buy a 3M eraser wheel to attach to a drill it will take all that extra glue off the side of the car in seconds, glue removers are a pain in the *** with leftover chunks of the double sided tape thats been on there for years.. once you get the chunks off hit it with wd 40 or Goo gone which you can get at a hardware store that with a plastic razor blade will get it all off and wont harm your paint.

if you get an eraser wheel be careful as to always keep moving otherwise you can burn your paint off if you stay in one spot for more than a couple seconds

the strips of glue hes removing are harder to get off than what yours is, but heres an example of how it works, ive done this to a few vehicles now, i highly recommend it.

That 3M eraser look really easy to use so I may go that route to get it off of the car but to my other part how do I remove the adhesive from my trim so I can put it back on. Will that adhesive take all of that old glue off.

Goof Off would have wiped that doublestick tape right off with a little pre-soak. Using that drill looks, um, PAINFUL.

look at my truck it works wonders, as far as the trim works go his route, unless you have a vice and some patience you can use the eraser wheel on it but i wouldnt recommend it if you are re using the trim.

I am planing on reusing the trim so I will use his method to remove the glue from the trim. Thanks for all of the help again from an awesome site like this one.
