Default 96 olds 88 LS

Tranny Slip code with SES light car drives fine but it just doesn't shift right from first to second, its been like this for awhile and I can't seem to get an answer is it a problem that should be fixed ASAP or is replacing the tranny i better idea with an HD verison, it happned last year when i was spinning in snow up to the door ledge

i thought there was only one? i know is has to do with one of the sensors catching a slip and ever since then hasn't gone away i'll pull the code again tomorrow and post it

I know this is a little old but heres the code P1870, Defination Trans Component Slipping? so is this a bad thing or a someone screwed thing :?:
