Default 1999 Olds 88 LS

My Fiance is looking for a new car. We have looked at a lot of things, from Malibus to LHS'*. We liked what we saw, but none of them seamed like the 'perfect fit'. Getting frustrated, I finally asked her to put IN WRITING what she wanted.

*4 door
*Mid to large size
*light color interior
*no console
*CD player
*must have woodgrain on the interior
*power seats

Well, the lot across from my work just got in a 99 88 LS. Its red with the 5 spoke rims, power everything. It car is super nice with only 66K on it. I cant find any body work or repaints anywhere and they are asking $6,699 which is reasonable to start negotiations.

Anything i should know about these cars. Realize it is basicly Bonnie SE, but anything I don't know?

I drove two 96/97 LS'* before I bought the LSS. I liked them and thats what I was going to get except this LSS kept staring me down across the parking lot . I dont think there is anything peculiar to the Oldsmoblle. Just the usual L36 maniufold gasket concerns but I guess they arent the end of the world. sounds like a good starting price. The ride is awesome, soft but nice ride. I passed on a 96 Regal GS because the ride was not right nor size for a family car. Bought a Regal later for myself.

I think the eighty eights were handsome cars. The ride and driving qualities were what we had come to expect from a car. We never did get to try out a LHS which was actually my other must check out. shoping stopped when the LSS popped.

If its got those wheels it should be a LSS - No ? Or were they also option. I had thought they were LSS specific. Maybe came off wreak later in life ?

Yes Jim same idea and sculptor but LSS 5 spoke Aurora 6 spoke.

Anyhow cars with these 16'* and 225'* have a much nicer stance than the 15'*. The 15'* have that narrow track under large car look.

C pillor side shot area is my favorite angle of eighty eights. Nose nice too but all gen II H'* were kinda tubular from the front. Nice but still tubular

The one that I looked at has those rims, but said LS on the trunk. Had a bench seat, too.

Well if you get the car the wheels may be on the option tag. Then we would know if it was ordered with them. Sometimes people order special cars. Unusual packages. Like the guy with the 4dr. 86 Royale with F41 suspension. Thats odd. The 76 Delta Royale I have came from original owner and he got 6way electric seats both sides, Cruise control, air, tilt wheel, and trunk release. However he got crank windows and only AM radio. Funny we get all these things standard today. So you never know how that 99 came equiped. It might have been someone that liked some of the special equipment but prefers the split bench. Is it leather or cloth ? Look in the trunk for the F code. Maybe its a LS with a sport suspension option and thats why it has the wheels.
