Default 1994 Silhouette wipers won't start, or start and stop part way

I am about to order a front wiper motor for my '94 Silhouette 3.8L, but I'm hoping someone can confirm this will likely fix the problem. Basically the wipers have three operational modes for me: 1. Work normally; 2. Don't respond at all to Mist button or slide switch; 3. Start going, but stop mid-sweep, sometimes going a few more inches and stopping again, sometimes returning to park on their own when hitting a bump in the road.
Will a replacement motor likely fix this? Could their be a way to fix without buying new parts? I think the switch is okay because the rear works normally and the front works normally sometimes.
Thanks, and Lumina APV and TransPort have the same set-up, AFAIK.

More than likely a failing wiper motor pulse board module that is failing, or may have got wet.
