I agree, these are great engines the series 1. As with everything mechanical it is maintenance that prevents breakdown. Regular oil changes and my toronado with 250k is still running like new. No oil use, great compression (all 170 hp &#128521

I'm a stickler with that I even keep a log book(pocket sized)in the glove box for everything even for changing air filter and lubing the vehicle.
I also write in filter, wiper numbers etc. so when I go to buy more I don't have to look it up. Oil filter numbers I can remember.
That'* cool. Yes, maintenance makes them last longer, but they're pretty tough as it is.
