1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme SL 3.1 V6. Acquired in trade, verified spark, verified 47 PSI at the fuel rail. Had spark but replaced CPS anyway to possibly fix Injector control. Tested spark plug 1,3,6 to verify each of the 3 coil packs was working. I can only get the car to run on starting fluid. I suspect it could be a bad Injector causing all of them to go bad or that they are all just clogged as the car has probably sat for 2 or more years. However I have a loose pigtail down I'm between the oil pan and tranny pan. It is a purple/yellow wire, so assuming it'* a signal wire I have no idea where it goes. It is NOT the purple/yellow wire that goes from CPS to ICM as I have that plugged into each and just replaced CPS. I need to know what this wire goes to or at least what it does because it could also be preventing the car from starting. As previously stated it is loose ( not plugged in ) between oil pan and tranny pan. It runs up the right side of the motor and joins with the main engine harness right next to the power steering pump on top. Please help with what this wire does or any other ideas on why this car will not start ??

Does it actually run on starting fluid or does it sputter a little on starting sluid?

It runs on starting fluid I can have it run all day if I had enough starting fluid. Fires up on all 6 cylinders.

where did you see that I've been seeing 40-47 for this year and motor

I was thinking 55PSI as well, but 47 should get you something, even if it is just a little bit.

I'd backprobe the injectors and see if they're even being commanded.

I see 55 psi for 2000+ but i could be wrong or have bad information but okay i will try that.

My memory was wrong and 47 is good with KOEO. The crank sensor sends the signal to the ICM which interprets it and produces a fuel signal. Your ICM may be bad.
