I was thinking about doing a carb swap but wasn't sure if I could use my fuel lines an pump already ran an if my ignition system would still work or if I needed a msd ignition box since i have coil packs.

1988 should have the LN3, which is essentially what the L27 is based off of with some tweaks.

What are your end goals? How much power do you want? What are you going to do with the extra power? What are your plans for the rest of the car?

And if it does have the LN3, it'* fuel injected.

There are things that can be done, but again, depends on goals.

I know it'* the series 1 3800 yes fuel injected. I want a nice lil sleeper v6 is my end goal without spending millions. I wanna be able to smoke the front tires off by power breaking it. The car is way high tech for its year. I've always liked carbs better an hate all the computers especially being obd1

The path of least resistance may be a series 2 L67 drivetrain swap. In stock form, it'* only a gain of 80 horsepower, but modding can nearly double that and still keep it as a fairly reliable daily driver.

Finding a donor car may be your best bet. Quite a few people have put that drivetrain in quite a few things.

Building a sleeper gets harder and harder day by day, especially when you figure your run of the mill minivan of today is sitting on over 300hp typically.

Now it turns to a question of whether or not you are up to the challenge of making fasties

But then again, this is all more computer fiddlery.

Going carbureted is beyond my skill set, so I don't know if any of what I just said is of interest to you.

Yeah. I was thinking of swapping in a series 3 3800 supercharged. Kfrake an all since there aluminum be lighter then mine. Only problem I have now is that when I'm in park in idles up an down. I've done a complete tuneup besides coil packs

Series 3 can be a bit more complicated because that setup is drive by wire.

And the subframe is a question of whether or not it will bolt up to the body. I am not sure about the Toronado though. I am a C/H body junkie myself.
