It was a ROYAL .... getting that nut off of that stud. It was on THAT good.

The TB was a job to clean good. I spent a few hours on that alone, me and my little tootbrush and bottles of tb cleaner....LOL

Has anyone cleaned off the ICM baseplate? It looked like it was both ground and heatsink, so I cleaned it up good too. (I'll grab my coil readings tomorrow)


Good news! No Bolts or nuts leftover! hehehe. Lots of pic helped alittle.
Only 1 ooops so far. I installed a valvecover with putting the new gasket in first. Luckily it was the bumper side, an easy fix.

Tomorrow: Install injectors & fuel rail. Install new serpentine, change oil & coolant and (it had better) start up.

She Lives !!!!!
Since its supposed to rain for the next 5 days I took advantage of the warm night and finished cleaning the injectors, put on orings, installed them... found the wiring on the firewall side wasn't long enough so I had to disasemble the alt mounts on that side and relocate the main harness. Boy thats a tight squeeze by the alt. I put the mounts back on and went for the fuel rail. I pulled the mounts again to make getting hte rail ineasier...LOL

After wasting half an hour trying to get the fuel rail in and onto the injectors I gave up on that method and pulled the injectors and put them in the fuel rail. That works much better, trust me.

reconnected the remaining wiring and vac lines and gave it a test fire. it took a few tries but she fired up and the idle smoothed right out. I shut her down and closed up shop for the night. It had been raining for about an hour by then :(

only two problems.
One; the o-rings that come with the Dorman are too narrow. Make sure you get the right ones from the parts store. I'm glad I had them but I was looking forward to returning them when I saw the Dorman had 'em already.

two, when I put the alt brackets back in, I don't have enough slack to connect the 1 vacume line that connects to the brake booster connector. Can someone post a pic of how its supposed to go please? My pics didn't include that specifically.

Well thanks for following along so far. Its been an adventure for me

I got them on but it sure would have been easier to do them off the vehicle....LOL

Yes, blue boltlocker on the LIM and the UIM bolts. With those relatively low torques, I have removed a lot of those bolts that had loosened over time.
