Question Your opinion on the Grand Prix

What do you guys think of the Pontiac Grand Prix (mainly the GT model)? I'm dying to get my hands on another Pontiac with a 3800 engine. Is the GP worth looking at, or should I just be patient and wait for another Bonneville to come along?

IMO the Grand Prix is a pretty nice car. It'* lighter in weight, so they always feel faster than the heavy Bonneville.
The ride is very stiff. The interior is kinda cheaper though. Only offers drivers heated seat to.

But all in all its a good car. Can't go wrong with the drive train, thats for sure.

I wonder if the insurance premiums would be higher than the Bonneville?

If you can't wait than yes the GP is a fine choice.

On a plus side....... after market options (body kits) for GP'* is huge compared to the Bonneville'*

Ive compared them both and clearly prefer the Bonny. Mileage/ performance are similar yet the Bonny gives a better ride, more space and more comforts. IMHO the only advantage the Gran Prix offers is it takes up less room in a garage.

M249,

Maybe I should put a disclaimer that I am old and like the nice ride and a quiet interior.

Read an interesting article that the biggest difference between the Ford Fusion and its Lincoln sister (MKZ) is simply the thickness of the door glass- the Lincoln is thicker thus resulting in a quieter ride.

That is because you rode in the back of cattle cars and 5 tons way too often....

Also- I believe the Bonny is a little easier to work on than the GP simply because the same engine is in a bit bigger space.

I don't mind the GP. If were to get another Pontiac besides this one it would be either a GTP or GT, but not in the latest body style. I liked the one before this newest one best.
