Each girl has 7 backpacks
In each backpack, there are 7 big cats
For every big cat there are 7 little cats

Question: How many legs are there in the bus?

Note: there is NO bus driver. The bus is stationary.

I've got 1386

I sort of agree with petraman, except my answer is:

10,990 LEGS

feet, legs, same difference

Also, I highly doubt a 5th grade could do something like that... IIRC, 5th grade is all about long division and stuff like that...

Nevermind, I just recalcualted and got another answer. I quit

There are 7 girls on a bus - 7
Each girl has 7 backpacks 7x7 = 49
In each backpack, there are 7 big cats 49x7 = 343
For every big cat there are 7 little cats 343x7 = 2401
2401 + 343 = 2744
every cat has 4 legs... 2744x4 = 10976
every girl has 2 - 7x2 = 14
10976+ 14= 10990

I just recalculated for a fifth time and i got 10,990 legs
