Police: Man Mad At Mom Burns Random Pontiac Dealership

February 15, 2006

A Colorado man was charged with arson after he allegedly burned a Pontiac dealership because he was mad at his mother, who drives a Pontiac, according to a Local 6 News report.

Police said Joshua Abeyta drove to the Grand Auto Pontiac dealership in Thornton near Denver and ignited a fire.

Investigators said Abeyta set the business on fire as a way of getting back at his mother even though his mother had never visited the dealership.

"It'* not a disgruntled customer, it'* not a disgruntled former employee, just a wacky guy that was pissed at his mom and she happens to drive a Pontiac," dealership owner Mike Malin said. "God, I wish she drove a Ford or a Toyota (laughs)."

Abeyta was arrested and was being held at a detention center.

The fire caused about $300,000 in damage to the business

You don't suppose his mother drove a WHITE Pontiac, do ya?
