This time its a 97' Olds LSS supercharged with every option; sunroof, heated seats, lumbar, you name it. They want $5000 for it and with tax and the warranty close to $6000. The warranty I really like, 3 years 36,000 miles, for the extra $750 is worth it. However, having an L67 series 2, only one of the easiest modifiable engines in the world any mods will most likely void that warrenty. What a dilemma. Having a series 2 L67 and not being able to mod it is like buying a house and not being able to put furniture in it. :(
Mods you could do without voiding the warranty would be a 3.4" press-fit pulley (they wouldn't know it since it looks original), 180* t-stat (they still wouldn't know it and besides it'* insurance against overheating), CAI intake (could easily be removed before car is inspected), rockers (they still probably wouldn't know this unless they dig into the engine (they'd replace the engine before this and if it was the trans they still wouldn't have a clue), exhaust (you might get away with a high flow cat, but they might wonder why there is a 3 day old cat on the car when you bring it in for a repair 6 months after you bought the car -it'* your call), plugs and wires are standard maintenance, headers (they'd definitely gonna see this and go WHAT THE KUF IS THIS!?!? -this is where you turn your head the other way and
). PCM -just get a spare at a salvage yard (I'll see what I can find for this car) and have it programmed and just like the CAI replace with the stock unit if you know the car is gonna be repaired/inspected.

Why buy a warrenty?
If your going to mod don't get a warrenty. But if that'* not an option you can use the "stealthy" mod method. ZZP'* MPS has the option to come in black, that way the pulleys look stock (except for size of course, but does the average Joe know?). You can get the ZZP waterpump lightweight pulley in black as well. No one sees rockers unless for some reason they need to get under the valve covers. T-stat you can do as well as plugs. Wires they probably won't care about.
I'm not telling you to try and get away with voiding a warrenty, but I have an idea of what you want to do and there are some methods.
