Default WTF? Whaaaaa? New digital camera recommendations

To some, this is great news. To the ones with broadband net connections, this is horrible. My digital camera has been generally dead for some time now, and I'd like a new one. This is the one that I had:

Are there comparable cameras in this price range? I liked the one I had, so I could get it again. I'd first like your guys' recommendations, though.

What is your budget? It would make sense to spend a bit more, get a good camera so you won't have to be replacing them every year.

You could get a decent Sony P&* for sub $100. From what I've seen, their Zeiss lenses are very good for point and shoots.

Well, I got the Olympus for $50, so that is probably my budget. I've had a cheap, cheap camera for the past 2 years, but it sucks too much to bear. I haven't used it much, and it'* so painful when I do.

I assume for my budget, I can't go past point & shoot, so that'* all right. I'm not too impressed with this Sony camera'* price, but it seems to be cheap enough to buy. Which others are there that you recommend for some good ol' whorage?

most of those 5 year old olympus'* in the $500-$800 price range are a good buy..you can usually snag them for under $70.

Olympus C-4040 ($1100 orginally, now under $100)

Olympus C-4000 ($500 originally, now under $80)

Olympus C-3040 ($800 orginally, now under $70)

Olympus C-3030 ($1000 orginally, now under $60)

Olympus C-3020 ($600 orginally, now under $50)

check the reviews on these:

I've had good luck with used (high end) olympus cameras in the past, however with any brand you should be ok as long as it is a $500-$1000 camera when it was new 5 years ago.

I shot this photo:

with my C4000 which i got for around $100 a few years ago. Now they are even cheaper.

my DSC-P100 has lasted 4 years and over 20,000 photos. Up until a few months ago every photo on this website from me was taken with it. Its a diehard.

Thanks for the suggestions so far! I have been scouring eBay for some Sony digital cameras, and the ones within my budget are damaged. :( If I would like to spend $70 including shipping to 46217, which camera would be best?

I love my Samsung S630 digital camera I picked up last August for under $100. 6.0 MP, and really stellar video quality. The manual settings make for really great pictures if you know what you're doing. An excellent buy.
