Here'* how I think of it:

An empty RAM slot, is an unhappy RAM slot.
Guess thats why my RDRAM needs crimms...

You're talking to a computer builder and an MCSE! I can tell you from experience that the only slow down or "mini-interrupts", as I call them, that I've noticed are from older boards (i.e. 1998 or older). Very few are in the 98-00 range, and, as of yet, none 01 or newer. My computer here requires dual RAM, and it was bought last year, on a P4 board. But there are plenty of labels and such that warn you of that.

That being said, if your board is older than '98, I'd stick to dual RAM.

Dimension 2300....i was pizznizzled cause like right after i bought it they discontinued that model and started with the 2400 which has DDR RAM instead of SDRAM. as well as some other goodies.
