Default World Trade Center: The Movie

Anyone gonna go check this out tonight/this week/weekend?

I'm not a huge Nick Cage fan, but I'm slightly obsessed with the WTC and its impending redevelopment. I'm sure the movie will be a lot of rah rah America but I still wanna see it

Anyone else?

I'm kinda on the fence on this one. I like Nicholas Cage (not as much *** The Missus does), and am kinda interested in their view of the events, but....

-I'm not sure I want to see if they "destroyed" it, production wise
-I'm on of them people that'* still pretty pissed off that it happened in the first place, so I'm not sure how to handle the movie emotionally
-I'm not sure it'* the type of movie I want to spend theater money on (them tickets is expensive)

And we all experienced it as it happened and I don't think it is right that they are taking something like that which is still fresh and making a profit UNLESS the money made would go towards helping the children of the victims. So many people were affected that day and I just hope they didn't forget the impact it had on the country. Just my two cents.

If I see it I'll wait for DVD, but it just seems like it'* too soon be making a big budget movie about it. Those types of movies are always emotional, this one will be even more so.

And no to be guesome, but the fact that it'* PG13 means that it'* lacking in some areas to REALLY show you what they went through on that day.

I will go see it. It'* about our history, and those important to that day. It'* more of a tribute rather than a money maker IMO.

Movies have been made about wars and other tragedies, this is just another.

I'm sure that whoever did the movie did it right and honorably. I haven't seen it of course, but I'm sure there was a lot of thought that went into everything about it, and how it would affect people, considering what the movie is about. One would have to be to make such a movie. Whether it was released 5 years after or 10 or 15, 9/11 would still be fresh in everyone'* minds who experienced it. There'* people still grieving over the Pan Am flight disaster. I don't think there'* anything wrong with making a movie about it. It would be nice if some of the proceeds went towards a memorial or something along those lines. But making some money off it isn't a completely horrible thing.

My 2¢

this quote, taken from another forum I frequent...

...movie shows the courage of the passengers on the flight, and the courage and will to survive of the police officers and firemen who risked their lives to save others in the tragedy. The filmmakers might have wanted to portray that and show it through their eyes using the media. They don't focus on the terrorist attack.. in fact, I don't think they even show the plane going into the building in the WTC movie... they just show a shadow of the plane passing... They don't focus on the attack, they focus on HUMANITY in times of adversity.
