On Saturday I am doing the rockers (finally). They following day i'm driving 1000 miles. I could but don't want to wait till Monday to go on my trip. Should I give it a day to make sure they are reliable before the trip? I don't want it to break down in the middle of Louisiana. They don't like us yankees.

Err.. Thats a serious thing you're doing there. I wouldn't count on the car at all for a few days after you put the rockers in unless you've done this many times before. The bottom line is that you don't want to make such a serious change to your engine with any kind of deadline, otherwise you might rush and cause a bigger problem.
I don't know if I would trust it- just in case. But if you do go I wouldn't worry about the Louisian'*, they are a nice bunch (for the most part, at least the one'* I've met have been really nice)

They ended up being the coolest people in OK. I think the biggest dusc* bags live in my state. Even New Yorkers seem more friendly than MN'*. :(
