Hit a hawk on I-70 in MO. Tooling along at about 70, and he zigged when he should have zagged. Immature Red Tailed hawk, still too stupid to know not too play chicken. Smashed my windshield(didn't come thru), then got caught in the visor. I was only a couple hundred feet from an off ramp, so I pulled off and stopped, whereupon he fell onto my hood and flew away. He only made it about 50' before he landed and collapsed though. I spent about an hour trying to find a raptor-rescue place, but by the time they called back, he was dead.
My Mom is a naturalist, so I'm taking him to her, so she can use him for educational programs.
So that leaves me sitting in Boonville, MO, missing Daytona, waiting til tomorrow for this shop to get my new windshield in. Which won't be here until tomorrow.

I hit a segul once with my sebring on the toll road in ohio doing 80mph my windshield was toast

I hit some bird the other day doin about 70. Don't know what kind it was (sun was barely up) but it couldn't have been that big b/c I knocked the spit out of him and he didn't hurt my windshield.

Crzydmnd, I have a WiFi account with TA truckstops. Also, I have web access on my phone, but not broadband, too expensive. I can get the club, but I don't have a touchscreen, so I have to scroll, which sucks. The phone makes up for that with the 2.0mp camera, though.

Don't be surprised. It'* a common occurance.
