Default Will this o2 sim work on a 99 Blazer?

my friend has a 99 Blazer, and the guy that owned it before her told her that her check engine light stays on because of "his exhaust" which it has a muffler of some kind on it, and im assuming a removed cat...I have yet to verify this, because anytime im at her house (she lives about an hour away) im always dressed up and were going somewhere, so i dont want to crawl around under the ground, i keep telling her to go have someone scan it for her at Oreillys, but she says she "doesnt have time" and isnt worried about it, well I am worried about it, because obviously if something else goes wrong she wont know about it, and she has a fairly serious case of dumb blonde syndrome(DBS) and probably wouldnt notice.

so anyway im trying to find a cheap fix for her, i know the O2 sim boxes that are plug and play are about 30-40 bucks, but i did find this:

This one appears to have to be hard-wired instead of just plugged in, no big deal though at half the price.

I wouldn't waste my time on that, they say it works on all cars 96+? go with the one Intense carries since that will work for sure.
