Default Wicked Sport - Jetsprint Boat Racing

I've been fascinated with this sport for quite awhile. I don't know if you've ever seen this or not, but it'* insane. YouTube - Jetsprint Boat Racing 2008 Rnd 1

The water is only 3' deep and the channels are no wider than 12'. The course length varies, and its a race against the clock and other competitors. These boats run about 16' in length and have between 500 and 1000hp motors. The driver and navigator typically experience 3 to 7 g'* in cornering. On the track they average about 80mph, but in open water they can reach speeds of 125mph.

The sport started in New Zealand and is slowly making it'* way across the globe.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...38344819&hl=en wicked back seat view of driver and navigator. Don't watch if you have motion sickness!

Awesome! I cant figure just why the passenger is in there flapping his hand around. The driver ought to be keeping his eye on the next turn. Must be they let the guy who bankrolls the engine feel like he gets to participate. Really, he should be shifting his weight like a motorcycle flatcar rider, not flapping his arm like a wounded turkey.

There was a backhoe in my yard today. Had to wait for him to move off the driveway just so I could leave.

Grrrrrrrr. For me, it'* been an old guy (but new lake resident) who starts at the top of my 1/2 mile drive and backs all the way down, shoveling cinders from the town barn as he goes along so his wife can get out to town. Pisses me off waiting for him to finish. Always seem to run into him when I'm in a hurry. I've been getting up the drive just fine without all that for 8 years. He needs to teach her about inertia and drive it like ya stole it!
