I've recently (within the last month or so) moved to an apartment in Sycamore, IL, right alongside Route 23. I am home today with the stomach flu. I ran for supplies this morning, and of course, there was no long-term metered parking left when I came back...meaning I had to take a metered space that had a max time of two hours.

I remembered this roughly 15 minutes ago, and went running downstairs...only to find that I'd already missed my metered time and had a parking ticket.

Fine paid: $0.25.

Small price to pay for this locale...three bars, a liquor store, a 7-11, a candy store, a movie theater, and several restaurants within a block of me. Within several blocks, there'* a junkyard, my bank, a grocery store, several more restaurants...you get the idea

I will eventually want to live in a house again, but I think they're going to have to drag me out of this apartment kicking and screaming.

25 cents? my last meter violation was $14.

$0.25 is awesome, although not really going to motivate you to not get a ticket.
