Default Whoa Black Betty!

Still up for sale but no takers. :(

Dropped the price to $4900 and most peoples comment is....."that'* more than I have to spend, sorry!" :?

People just don't appreciate a great car, even if it is old and ratty.

Over the last 3 years I've owned it I spent about $9,000. fixing and upgrading it. I know I will never recover that so will have to be content with writing it off to 3 years of enjoyable driving in all weather conditions even though I only put on about 5,000 miles (8,000 kms for us Canuks).

So maybe I'll just drive it this one last summer and write it off........literally
I'd rather watch it burn than let it go for $1,000.

Then sell it for just a little more than I paid for it when it was a pile of junk.

You guys might have a better idea of what I need to ask for it so someone would be interested in a car that will only go 250 miles on an $80 tank of fuel.
:?: :?:

Because it is so powerful I'm afraid my 17 year old new driver son will kill himself in it.
I want to use the money to buy him something a little smaller......engine wise.

Keep the car, hide the keys, and tell him to buy his own car.

Thats the problem with a car like Black Betty, its hard to move when your ready to sell.
Find a 6 cylinder transplant until Victor can safely take the reigns of a big V8

Compared to my immaculate Formula WS6 the Trans Am is pretty rough.

My Formula has the identical drivetrain but it'* been with me since day one. I know every bolt and gasket on that car. That'* what made rebuilding the Trans Am so easy. I even had some of the old parts on the Formula that I used for the T/A.

The only thing I'll miss is the open air T-tops. Those were cool on a warm summer day.

It'* not gone yet but I have it listed on Craigslist Vancouver for $4,900. firm and so far two guys are really interested and one is even driving up from Vancouver to see it on Monday. That will cost him about $200 for fuel and ferry both ways and take him all day, so he must be serious......let'* see if he shows up. :?

Victor has personally spent about $1,200 on the stereo and half of the front windshield so my plan is to give him $2,400. and he can get what ever he wants and that'* it the rest is all up to him.
Chynna will get $1,500 for her to get a little beater and that leaves $1,000 for me which is what I paid for the car originally.

I'm not too worried if it doesn't sell either cause they can do without wheels after the way they have treated me in the past, so that will make me FIRM with that price, not a penny less

.......and it has $400 Koni adjustable front shocks, a killer cam and a brand new Starter......

I think I'll rob the power trunk release off it cause my Formula didn't come with that option.

100% in agreement here. Kids never learn to appreciate anything if it'* given to them.

Yes my point exactly. I know he won't appreciate this car for what it is so that'* why I'm just going to give him back what he put into it plus a little extra cause, well, cause I'm his Dad.

The guy trying talking me down in price but I held firm. He agreed to the $4900 and is supposed to be here tomorrow to strike the deal. I told him he better be bringing a certified check after he said he would pay with brand new $100 bills.......there are too many counterfeit ones floating around. :?
