I'm planning on following this one to closely, because lets face it, what happens in the US affects us up here.

Can someone give me a quick unbiased summary/platform of the more unknown candidates. I've already got an understanding of McCain, Clinton, Obama, Rudy and Mitt Romney.

I'm inbetween Clinton and Obama also, but as of right now I voted Obama. And I really don't see that changing much. I've NEVER EVER voted, but this time I'm voting.

I haven't given much thought about Hilary as Prez but NY was F'ed up long before she arrived.

I think you're wrong about Obama, I live in an incredibly racist/conservative town so sometimes it'* hard to remember that there are progressive people out there, but I think it'* possible he will get elected. I personally like Edwards a lot, he'* got Carter'* appeal, but is WAY more suitable for office :P

I don't think there is a strong enough Republican candidate to beat out Obama or even Clinton.

and I'm not exactly sure how Hillary screwed up NY as a Senator, but I don't like her character that much (although I love her husband).
