well @ least i live in the burbs, we had 1 murder here in saint clair shores. and the killer was convicted. index of 200.6

i'm not saying i want it...but there is no easy fix and jacksonville lacks the money needed for enough cops and programs to curb violence. they sometimes give out money for illegal guns if you turn them in...but most of the time they run out. Also, Jacksonville is just about the largest city population wise (Duval county/Jacksonville was combined) and most of the murders happen within the old city limits, so the crime rate really would be higher.

But here are some numbers from neighboring cities.

Euclid, Ohio = 312.5 (2006)
Willowick, Ohio = 89.8 (2006)
Willoughby Hills, Ohio = 136.0 (2006)
