I was refering to skipping A gear....I often do a 3-5, usually when accelerating hard, but not going way over the speed limit Maybe this is what you are refering to as well, but my first and second are REALLY short...3rd on the other hand is long and versitile.

When I had my Focus, I drove it to work for a week with a blown out clutch, matching revs the whole time It was funny at traffic lights when I had to turn off the car, and use the starter to get it going down the road.

my engine is a bit more powerful than yours, making 5th a rather useful gear

That'* not skill girls...that'* plain sad....

Shift up w/o a clutch..then you are getting better.. realize the automatic is getting the same mileage and dump the clutch..lol
but the auto is also sucking all the fun out of driving.

Sad thing is I actually believe him. I bet, if this clutch actually got fried, IowaMax would still kick the SSEi'* butt with a fried clutch

Sad is that even a racing clutch can get fried easily enough and neither of you realize it. Iowamax? He lives in Indiana
