Tis better to keep it at one set temp than it is to fluctuate it. It has to work 2X as hard to get it 5 degrees warmer.

I can relate to that. We had a 2nd floor apartment when we were married ten years ago and we never had the heat set because it was so hot. I always wore a t shirt and shorts even in winter.

Our house is set to 70* when we are home, and I think 60* at night and while we are at work.

60 while we're sleeping and at work. Then it kicks up to 65 from 5:10 PM to 9:50 PM.

Weekends are set to 63 from 8 AM to 9:50 PM.

Setback thermostats are great. ...not to mention having a brother in the trades.

we keep the thermostat at 62, and we use a space heater in the living room to suppliment the super expensive heat.

12 ft ceilings + 100yr old apartment building = ridiculously expensive to heat

I need to get my boiler checked. I'm hoping the gage is just wrong, because it only shows water temp of 120, I think its supposed to be 180. Its always kicking on, so I think it is working, but the house never gets much above 66 when its colder than 40 out. I do not have insulated windows though, so I'm sure I'm loosing a lot of heat that way. Burned through 400gal of propane this winter, and the boiler is the only thing using it.
