Yes, there have been some availability and speed issues with the forum over the past week or so. The problem is pretty much this: We've been too successful! The server is running out of memory, which is forcing it to start swapping, which slows down web response time. Unfortunately, the requests keep coming in despite the slowdown, causing a significant backlog. Then the server becomes extremely loaded (load averages in the 90s, for those of you who know what that means), and so on.

More memory has been ordered, but it still has not yet been installed. Just a few more days...

yea I have noticed how bc has grown since i joined i dont remember hwa tmember number i was...under 1000...its insane...for you jeff i bet its a real good feeling of this accomplishment...this site is awesome

went from 1000 at the begininf of the summer to 1500 now... Wow that'* growth.

I thought it was becasue I replied to some post and you all caught on to them. I remember this happening to me before on someone else sight. THen I got banned.

Ah nope...it was server problems.

Not interpersonal problems. All this banning talk angers up the blood. So does wonky servers.
