What are you listening to?
I personally believe they did a great job covering that song, especially when you see them do it live like I have. When it came time to sing the song he didn't wanna sing it because his voice was going out. He didn't want to sing the song improperly and not give it the credit it deserves.
Dude, Shinedown covered that song a LONG time ago. Like 2004 or something. Also, the only reason why they were allowed to do it is because the lead singer is Eddy Van Zant'* nephew.

I personally was amazed at the way he sang it. Dont like the Band..... whatever. He'* rendition and the strength and clarity of it IMO did the song justice. Write them a letter Yutz, I'm sure they care.
Lol I'm too lazy to write a letter. I do like the band just have a personal feeling about redoing others songs

LOL. Not usually a fan of it either, but his voice and intensity there just blew me away. Always wanted to have a voice like that, few can achieve it.
