What would you drive to your High School Reunion?

Ya, that'* a two seater AMX. A shortened version of the Javelin. I think they typically came with a 401 V8 and could do the 1/4 in about 14. seconds. Handled like a piece of crap though. My cousin bought one new and the first month he had it the front spindle broke and put him in the ditch.

Oh, he got it back but had to fight tooth and nail with Chrysler to have it claimed as a warranty repair even though it was clear the fracture occurred before the crash.
He never bought another Chrysler product after that.

And I bet even after all these years they still would ask me what kind of Mustang or Challenger it was.

It went to under 11 secs if you got the Superstock 390 package; the 401 wasn't available until 71 iirc . The 390 was a hellava good engine.
The under 11 sec is a surprise though.
There is one here in town that has the big V8 and runs the 1/8 mi in 8.0 sec and it is not stock by a long shot.
Traction is the limiting factor and he runs slicks.

My first car was the Javelin but in powder blue. I paid $200 for it from a girl that bought it for her boyfriend (they were splitting up). I ended up dating her for a while myself.
I never had a 70 AMX but I had a 69 /343 and later a 74 /401 later on as well as a 71 /304 Javelin SST. I don't know what was done to the 304 before I bought it but all I did was Hi-rise intake, 4bbl carb, headers and dual exhaust and it was wicked quick for the first block LOL
