Default What would you do?

Im not very mechanical so if I was to have my car current car a '94 SSEI fixed it would cost be about $3500

Ive also been looking at older model cars
Such as:
Cadillac Coupe Deville Convertible or possibly hardtop (needs work)
Price between $1500-$4000
OR Oldsmobile something with a 455 Rocket preferably 98 or 88
$500-$3500

I could probably sell my car for about $500 to $750

I wouldn't put $3500 into a '94 Bonneville, sorry guys. I wouldn't get an old project either if you haven't done it before. I would invest in a newer car personally.

It has a blown engine(edit: the engine not blown yet but i just say that because its not driveable well it is but i wouldnt want to drive it)(the lower bearings are shot or gone or whatever and it clunks and bangs like an SOB when it running and when it sits in this condition for a while with the battery hooked up the battery goes dead)(could a shot engien be the problem that is causing my battery to die or could I have and electrical problem or other issues) theres the $3500 or so I was quoted a while back its probably more now and then theres the rotting headliner the cracked up rear bumper cover from some idiot in a parking lot and then thers the passenger side mirror that the mirror is busted out from ramming one of those little orange road bouys

But aside from that its a good solid car with 120k very minimal rust now since it been in my garage for about 2 years since I havent needed but will need a car around the end of this year or early 2009

The caddy was pretty good shape needed a little work and the oldsmobile was it what looked to be pretty good shape except that it had 148k on the clock and im not sure how long those 455 last when they are now almost 50 years old

I personally would buy a $500 junk yard engine and have it put in.

Is that what they run because what I was looking at were like $1500 to $2500 Junkyard engines but they were "Tested"

Do you have any idea what the cost to have one put in would be
I was kind of guessing it would probably be about a thousand if I just bring them the engine and the car and say "here go swap away"

They run $500 in my area. I don't know where you are located, its not in your profile.

Find a smaller shop to do the work, you could probably get it installed for $500 also.
