The new house next to mine never had siding put on the back of the garage. There is trim around the edge of the existing siding like it is finished. And today they dug a big hole and poured some sort of footing abut three feet below ground level. When they started digging I thought they were putting in a rear driveway for a boat and the garage would be drive-thru. But the new footing doesn't extend very far from the foundation of the garage. What could it be for?

For a Boat? Just back if though the garage and park it behind the house. Sounds like a cool idea to me

I'd bet its a workshop. My first thought was sunroom or jacuzzi room but who'd want that attached to the garage? LOL

Well they've poured the rest of the foundation, a floor level with the garage floor, built the walls, and added a roof peak that runs inline with the garage and sided/shingled where appropriate. It'* 8-10 feet deep and about 6 feet less wide than the rest of the garage. There may be a normal door on the other side.

It'* given me ideas that I kinda already had, and I've got the added opportunity of a room already above the garage. It went up so fast. I'm thinking big honkin rec room.
