I'd actually have to go with the SRT4. I have heard really good things about them in some magazines. I think it was C&D, but it might have been another mag like it absolutely loved the car. They were comparing it to the Saturn Ion Redline. In case you haven't heard yet, Saturn decided to have a supercharged engine option into the Ion. One big thing they talked about with the Ion is that the RPM gauge is mounted on the far right side of the gauge cluster...this wouldn't be a problem except the gauges are in the middle of the car...way out of the normal line of sight.

I don't really like the idea of cars like the SRT4 or Cobalt SS. Yes they are made to compete with the import/tuner market, but they are "modified" from the factory. The whole point of most of the tuners out there is customization. What fun is it if the car already comes with a rear wing and 18 inch chromies? They are just cars for the masses as far as looks are concerned. I do like that the cobalt is SC though. Just my 2 cents.

Probably because to buy an import, then tune it to these perfomance specs would cost much more than 21 grand.

So, it'* a less expensive option.

SRT-4 is in a different ballpark. It'* a turbo, and it makes way more power. GM should have turboed their Ecotec, and then they would be competing with the Neon.
