Oh yea, they can go 200k with HARD driving. I mean, you can seriously beat the crap out of those. Those things don't quit.
Agree 100%

Agree also. My 3.1 out of my '92 Cavalier runs GREAT with no ticks or knocks, or misses, and has 165k on it.

i've had 2 w-bodies that made it to (and past) the 200k mark. (1993 regal, 1988 GPrix LE)

My advice would be to buy a 2.8/3.1 MPFI-powered w-body- they sell around here for next to nothing and go forever.

The 3 main issues i've noticed are 1-bad brakes (parking break sucks) 2- check the engine mount dogbones 3- on the coupes, the door handles like to break in cold weather.

very true. the rear brakes on 1st GEN W-bodies were improved dramatically in '94. the '88-'93 rear calipers were JUNK design and the rotors were only 10.1" as opposed to 11.0" starting in '94. the front rotors were enlarged from 10.5" to 11.25" in '96. i got all of that done to my '91 Cutlass and i'd say it probably stops better than my Regal GS with ABS! FFP make some nice billett aluminum dogbone motor mounts with poly inserts but they're kind of spendy. they do help ALOT though.
