That is awful. When I was younger I use to love roller coasters and the older I got the more my life was a roller coaster and not as much fun. I always knew better than to trust carnivals but you never think that would happen at Six Flags.

Statistically, they still say roller coasters are very safe as far as amusement park entertainment goes. And it'* hard to say what the circumstances were... a woman committed suicide by jumping out of a car on the Matterhorn (sp?) when I was visiting Disney World as a child.

Regardless, you won't find me on any coasters in the near future

Seeing as it was just one person, I have to wonder if he wasn't doing something stupid. Maybe I've lost a lot of faith in humanity, but that was the first thing that crossed my mind.

actully the carinavls/fairs are safer... well at least here in MI because they are required to be certifed EVERY TIME they are set up AND opened/closed..... where as a park might be able to let some things slide for a day or so.. the lil carnivals are actully safer...

That is good. I just remember when I lived in Chicago they would hire homeless people to put together the rides and that thought doesn't inspire safety. There was an accident in Evergreen Park, IL where a ferris wheel car came loose and was just hanging ready to fall. My friend who'* a firefighter had to climb up there to do a rescue. It was pretty scary.

You would....However, if you are flying around the track going 80 mph any projectile vomit should go behind the person not in front. So with that being said you need to sit in the front seat and you will be fine. Unless they don't get sick until the ride comes to a complete stop.
