maybe they were just too short to wax the roof....... lol as for the lesabre, it was a rare but factory option. it was also a option on the park ave and the century. (was there when my grandfathers bought them new lol)

Those fake convertible tops are BUTT UGLY!!! I was always extremely thankful that my '97 Deville didn't have one. They're even worse when they've been exposed to the elements for a few years.
Some of them were factory jobs, but a lot of them were done by the dealers as an added profit item. Back in the mid '90s, my dad was going to spec out a LeSabre and wanted to put one of those tops on it. The dealer, who was a longtime friend of his, told him emphatically not to do it because it would ruin the resale value. At the time, Dad was recently retired from GM and was still into buying a new car in the fall, driving it until mid-summer, and selling it as the current year model. With that in mind, he listened to the dealer.
