Updated file for what? PCM? You should give Nelson Performance a ring and get them to send you a custom tune. Would improve power and fuel economy. Can pretty much do anything you want. Change shift points, rev and speed limiters etc. That'* who I use for my truck. Once you pay the 400 bucks you have unlimited free retunes if need be.

Why would I send someone $400 to get a custom tune when I already have Hptuners? I just want an updated GM file.

Yes, its all done via laptop. Some things are easy to understand and some things, well...its like reading the blueprints to the space shuttle. It'* all menu driven, but you have to have an understanding of how all the values work and everything. It also has bidirectional control to turn things on and off like fans, fuel pumps, case learns etc. Only thing it does lack is ABS pump bleed.

Sounds interesting, I'll have to look into that. I've always wanted to do my own tunes. I was looking on ebay yesterday at it and it says you only have so many credits to do so many tunes per year or something?

No, 8 credits come with it. It usually takes 2 credits to license a single vehicle. But you can tune to your hearts content.for as long as you have it. Now, you can also license an entire year/same engine multiple vehicles for 4 or 6 credits depending on platform.
