Kodak 4 MP EasyShare CX7430 Digital Camera

I saw this at wal-mart for $230... found it on the net for $199. I really have wanted a digital camera to take to college, and for thise price and 4 MP I am very tempted to go and buy one. http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQueri...q-locale=en_US
It uses a SD memory card, so I was thinking of getting a 128MB or 256MB one for the camera. What do you think, good deal?? Good camera?? Thanks a ton

I always thought that kodak was good, but not the top tier of manufacturers for cameras. But their new models have suprised me, but i was after a very advanced camera.

I got the Fujifilm s5000 this summer, You could probably find it under $300 online easy now. It uses the 3.1MP Super CCD, at an angle, to produce 6 Megapixel images (HUGE). 10x Zoom (my biggest requirement for a digicam) has a good flash, movie mode, and has webcam capability (use it all the time)

But for that price, that Kodak is a gooood deal, Fuji'* are cheapest at Clickfordigital.com last i checked...

Thanks Jason... looks very nice, but I am looking for something a little more portable. I just want something to take to college and be able to go out with and take pics on the go. When I graduate I plan on adding photography to my list of stuff to do (along with many others) but as for now I just want something that I can take pictures of all of my freinds with. I plan on carrying it with me as much as possible so that I can take a picture of the sun setting over the lake or whatever I see that I like, but I am probably not as much of an avid photographer as yourself. So, after all of that blabbering, what I really mean is I just want something simple that will take good pictures and that will be good enough for 4 years...

My dad'* olympus C-3030 is very nice also. a little bigger though.

But whatever you do, stay away from HP. Their battery life SUCKS!

Yeah, we have one of the previous ones just like that around-it'* a great little camera. I think you'd be happy with it. Only thing is the silly digital zoom isn't real terrific, but everything else is somewhere between good and excellent.

Thanks for all of the replies... we currently have a CyberShot 3.2MP and I have to agree that it is a very nice camera, and that plus the fact that my dad paid for it is the reason it is staying at home.
