What do you guys think?
I just sold a 97 with the short box. I hated the short box. Totally worthless, IMO. But, then again, I use a truck for a truck (not like 90% of the trucks on the road nowadays).
That'* not a "long bed". That'* the standard size bed.

With those tires don't expect too much in the way of fuel economy. I got the 305 motor, stock wheels and tires along with granny gearing and only get 22 mpg at the best of times. I'm thinking you'll be looking at 12 -14 mpg at best.
Nice looking truck I think you'll like it.
the ease of repair is a big selling point for having a full size chevy.
As for mpgs, my brother-in-law has a 96 Z71 with 33" tires and a 3 inch lift and he averages 16-18 city, so i'm hoping to be about the same. Which like i said is still better than the blazer. Even if i got 13mpgs i'd still be doing better than the blazer

The truck is 2hours away, and i can't get down to look at it until Monday. I talked to the dealer just now, and he thinks its pretty much sold.

And i have to wait for the blazer to sell so i have enough money, looks like i might not get it.

Dont worry better deals will come around.
Well some semi-good news.
I talked to the salesman today (the day i had planned on taking a look at it) and he said the people who were interested couldn't get financing!
So i took a trip down there to look at it. Its in pretty good shape, a little bit of rust on the DS door. The tailgate doesn't work. and the tires only have about half the tread left.
I took it for a test drive - and it ran like ****! The way it was acting up i'm guessing water in the gas, but the dealer is having his mechanic look at it right now, hope to hear back from him soon.
If its nothing too serious, and i can get the cash I will probably end up buying it.
And now i have a little "leverage" with the price. "well i'd give you what you were asking, but when i drove it, it ran like ****"

i'd still be very carefull of anything that ran so bad when you test drove it... even if it is minor if they leave it for YOU to fix and just "adjust" the price i still wouldn't bite. if you're going to consider it at all tell the dealer to fix it first and then you'll bite.
