What do they do with those pretty looking prototypes?

After the autoshow is over with? Are there some rich consumers that buy them? Like the original 275 hp SC V6 GX/P Bonneville with the tinted windows, HUD and tinted headlights? Or the G-Force Grand Prix :P

The cars go back to the OEMs and used as displays at the headquarters. Or, they're used as displays at other trade shows. Working for a supplier, we often get a car or two to be used for testing components that we supply (or will suppy) to the vehicle. We currently have a Mirano in our show room that'* from the show last year.

Nearly all production prototypes are crushed. Hot Rod Mag Did up an 04 F140, they tubbed the rear, Huge paint job, modified the bed to hell, suspension was all redone, put in a cage, drag slicks, cause Ford said to make a show truck. Ford said they couldn't have it anymore, and it had to be crushed.

They were told to return it to stock form. I think ford got a huge pile of parts to destroy..

think of all the extra money these companies could make by selling them all

I would buy one!!

GM made this turbo charged and supercharged malibu with green carbon fiber hood and trunk, and green paint to match, air ride, amazing sound system, 4 racing seats, tinted windows, awsome rims, custom dash...

I stared at that car for like 2.5 hours at the show it was at...to think of that destroyed is heart breaking.

Yep, that'* Robosaurus. Saw it in the Metrodome up here a few years back. We were on the upper level, could feel the heat from the flames, and all I could think was "That'* a cloth roof up there....."
