So I pulled out of the driveway to go to work yesterday morning and my speedometer wouldn't lift off of 0. 3 gauges down (tach, speedo, volt). Luckily I was able to take my car down to my brother'* work after I got off and pull into the shop to swap clusters. I now have 100% working gauges but no Driver Info Center (the spare cluster is a SLE one)

That'* one thing I never did understand, they put tachs in auto'*, but none in the cars with standard trans.
Screw the tach, use a TomTom for your MPH and use a digital multimeter for your volt gauge.

Working a fast idle fix, so I plan to go over the 4150 tune just to improve that a little. I get black smoke with full throttle and I'm sure the response could be better! Then I'm looking at attempting to make a workable leak test smoker since that'* probably my problem. Started cleaning out the back. Sort of a spring cleaning thing. Anyway, I've ripped the fuel gauge connection and lost the end of the wire connection somewhere back there! Go figure! Also pulled the grill for cleaning and adding some fresh paint. Got to get that GMC logo to stand out!

Lol at TomTom, they freaking suck. Garmin all the way. But why do that when I have a spare cluster

changed the oil on my monte and i finally got a chance to get some work done on my firebird yesterday. ive been trying to make it more street friendly. i had to take the exhaust off because it was hanging to low because the th400 conversion crossmember i had didnt have humps in it for people who run full length headers, so i fabbed up a mount thats further back and much thinner to gain 2or 3 inches. now got to make an exhaust from the header reducers to the mufflers. i always had issues with batteries too not driving it so i got a red top and a ctek mus4.3 charger. its all automated has cold temp mode, desulfation mode, can be used on the atv, and i can hook it to agm batteries and just leave it plugged in indefinitely it automatically goes to float mode. now i got to do something with the stupid headlight motors, neither works and people want to much for the rebuilt ones. if we get some decent weather i need to go to the junk yard

I went to my local Fred Meyer, and saw some cool looking door lock *****. I thought, what the hell, I don't like the boring OEM ones in my Aveo. I'll just wait to install them, as I've got a car alarm system coming in, and I need to get the gear for power locking doors yet.
