Drove it. To Milwaukee and back. Still vibrates a little at higher speeds, but not near as bad as before. Gonna check the ball joint bolts again tomorrow and make sure they didn't back out and/or bend and/or snap again.

You should try changing a stat on a 5.0 ford. Wow, a lot of cussing was involved.

Havent seen that particular size Ford Engine in my shop but, anything could happen...

The only thing that bugs me about the thermostat placement on the 3.4L is the exhaust manifold sheild right next to the thermostat housing...which is 1/2" from the throttlebody(yea no room!!!)

a 5.0 is a 305. The put the thermostat vertical instead of horizontal, Then put the water pump partly in the way. And then decided to put the belt tensioner right in front of it. So you need a swivel to get to one bolt, and the other one the water pump makes it impossible to get a socket on it, and the stat housing get in the way so you can't get a open end wrench on it. You can get a box end wrench on it and your able to turn the bolt 1/12th of a turn.

Yeah, that does suck! You have to disassemble that whole side of the engine bay to get to it.

Why do that have to make it so hard? My 84 Fiero was the best, turn a cap, just like a radiator cap, toss it and put new cap on. done. 30 seconds to change a thermostat.

I will be putting in the thermostat , I was hoping the dexcool was just gunking up the radiator and keeping at 140-160 degrees yet, after flushing the cooling system and watching it with scan tool I will be replacing the thermostat(yea!)
