Default What car were you happiest to own?

What car exceeded your expectations the most after you bought it?
I don't necessarily mean the fastest, most reliable, or most comfortable, neither should those cars be excluded.

I mean cars that turned out to far better than you expected them to be, perhaps something you picked up for a runabout while your main ride was having major work or had been stolen for example.

I picked up an '83 Cutlass wagon for £150 ($220) as a parts car for another Gbody wagon a few years ago. It ended up as my daily driver for 4 years and never broke down, I had to replace some brake lines and tires and brakes were replaced as they wore out just as on any car. It turned out to be a great tow car as well.
It wasn't the fastest or best handling or most comfortable car I've owned but by far the best value for money American car I ever had.

So what have you owned that turned out to be a pleasant suprise?.

Roger.

my 1995 geo metro

my dad bought two a 95 (mine) and a 96 (parts) for $150 in 2005. neither ran at the time the 95 had 186k miles and the 96 had 208k. my dad fixed up the 95 as it had a new trans at 130k. and sold the other to a yard you 75. so he had one decent running car for $75. he drove it for a little over a year no problems, and gave it to me in 07 for my 16th birthday. i got the car and started fixing things here and there. the car was a rusted whole but i didnt care painted all the rust and it didnt look that bad. put clamps on the exhaust to quiet it down as it was broken in 7 places, and stapled the headliner up. i ran the car to 208k miles beating it to a inch of its life. i only got 32mpg out of it. keep in mind my dad always got 43mpg. never missed a beat or anything. only complaint is it had no ac. sold the car for $350 in 08. got a call from my dad 4 months later saying his bosses son who bought it had the frame snap going over a speed bump lol

but that is the car i was most impressed with i still miss it sometimes

My first car, the 96 Corsica, only because it was already a POS and I could beat the hell outta of it all I wanted. No way I'd take elevated railroad tracks going 55 in the Bonne

I've only owned two, but I will probably always say that its my 2000 Ranger. That truck has never let me down, and almost all the problems I did have were only minor, that were fairly easily fixed.

Well all of my cars (12 of them thus far) have left a lasting impression but I think the one that I was most happy about was my first car a '87 Olds Cutlass Supreme coupe. I think everyone'* first car tends to be one of the happiest..I saved for it for a couple years and bought it a few months before I turned 15 for $2,500...which was a big deal..nobody my age had a car yet, not to mention buy one with their own money. It is the car that I had wanted since I loved the look of them and it got me started with my love for making my cars unique. It looked like your typical grandma car with wire wheels, but over the next year before I got my license I made some changes and made the car look great. It was not fast, or fuel effiecient (who cares gas was only .98 a gallon) but it was damn comfy, it was a brougham edition which had the pillow top seats lol. It had a 5.0 V8 and a 3 speed automatic transmission. It sounded nice with dual flowmaster exhaust though.

I loved that car. Then I got my hands on something with power ('94 Z2 and I had found a new love.

12 vehicles...all GM...what'* not to be happy about?
